Model 1840 Heavy Calvary Saber
SOLD!
Also known as the old wrist breaker model, 1840 sabers were carried by both Union and Confederate forces during the Civil War.
The old wrist breaker is the most commonly carried saber of the Confederate Calvary.
This particular saber was found in an old home in Williamson County, Tn. and could have possibly been left by one of Forrest Calvary of the 1864 Nashville/Franklin campaign. The saber is in attic relic condition with the grip down to wood and the saber and scabbord as a whole with an unclean brown patina. The saber has blade markings "R &C".
Very nice calvary artifact with likely Confederate association. - $675
