This is one of the rarest, most beautiful, and most sought after of all Civil War sabers. It is the finely made and extremely intricate Confederate Cavalry Officer's saber made by Kraft, Goldschmidt, and Kraft "K.G. & K." of Columbia, S.C. This particular saber was on display for many years at the Lotz House Civil War Museum in Franklin, TN. To begin with, it was the original saber only, and at a cost of $1000. an "exactly correct" scabbard was contracted to be made to display with the saber in the museum. The scabbard is an absolute work of art and comes with the saber. The saber itself is 100 % original and one of the nicest examples known. The blade is bright and clean, and the grip is complete with original wrap and wire. The guard is very intricate and perfect with a beautiful cast in "C.S." and a rich, aged, never cleaned attic patina. I am told that only about a dozen of these remain in existence. What a treasure for even the most advanced Confederate collection.         SOLD!
